FAQ

Q. I don't know what I am spending on print today, so how can I make savings?

A. It is critical before you make changes to find out what you are producing, how much it costs and what benefit you are gaining. Saving money is an important goal but a balance of cost saving and productivity is optimal. We have the skill to find out the answers to these questions quickly.

Q. My copy contract is coming up for renewal - should I just renew?

A. Even if you are offered a discount on renewal DO NOT without talking with us. If time is short we can check your terms remotely to find out whether you are getting the best deal. If you miss out on this opportunity you could be tied in for years

Q. How can I possibly keep up, my business is always changing?

A. We know about departmental churn, you might think it is a nightmare, but you can use it as a major opportunity to achieve performance improvements. The difference in view is delivered by putting in place the right tools and processes to proactively manage change. With our approach you can plan quickly and deploy right first time, every time. You will never again have to set up large and expensive project teams for audits and the like.

Q. Why don't I just move all my print to MFDs, after all they offer a lower cost per page?

A. In most cases just printing on MFD's will not improve your productivity or costs, this is because of the cost of renting or purchasing them in the first place is much higher than an office printer. We can help you find the right balance between performance and cost.

Q. Why would I not just purchase Multifunction devices they cope with all needs?

A. Why not give everyone in the company V8 4x4s? Seriously how much copy is taking place vs print, how much A3 is being bought vs A4, how much colour vs Mono. If you can answer these questions then you have the making of a business case.

Q. Budgets for Copiers are held separately from print - how do I get support?

A. We understand about central and distributed budgets, central budgets are easy to assess, distributed budgets owned by every department head are impossible. Well not any more because we can build solid business cases for the distributed costs as well with absolute confidence. We can make your budget holders accountable.

Q. If I got rid of all my printers and printed to less I could save money right?

A. Of course rationalisation is a good way of saving money, but you need to make sure that your users get the right level of service, if they are queing at devices waiting for output they will be costing you money in wait time. You need to know how to balance employee costs with print costs.

A. We have a strong need for confidential print and everyone needs their own printer

A. How many times have we heard this as the overriding need for personal printing? If security is a real need and in many departments it is, then a proper solution must be found. We are experts in confidential and secure print, we know about encryption, we can put solutions in place to assure confidentiality. But this costs much more than regular office print, we can quickly help identify the "needs" from the "wants" and put a pragmatic solution together within your budget.

Q. Surely we need colour copying and printing?

A. Ask your users how much more a colour page costs than a black and white one, the real answer is between 10 and 20 times. Ask them if they want to increase their budget accordingly and the issues are obvious. Yes colour is a major benefit to your business but with current technology it needs to be used wisely. A single pixel of colour on a serviced copier is enough to hike the price. So you need to monitor and manage output. We can show you how to do this cost effectively

Q. If I reduce the number of devices will I have to pay for a higher level of service?

A. Service costs for call to fix are very expensive. We can prove that you don't have to spend that much. Perhaps it would be worth talking to us about creating self-healing print stations - yes we are absolutely serious we can create an environment that has the same levels of availability as your server rooms and we can keep the costs down.
